New: my friend, the Ruy Lopez
May 31, 2009 by New in Chess (ADVERTORIALS) · Leave a Comment
Today we walked into an old friend: the second edition of The ABC of the Ruy Lopez.
It must have been over three years, since we first met. We worked together intensively, back then, and my Spanish opening skills improved a lot. My friend looked extremely well, much younger in fact.
What happened? It turned out this DVD was expanded with over 1 hour and 20 minutes of new material, among which a significant contribution on how to play against the Berlin Defence.
On this second edition I also found lessons on the Bird, Smyslov, Cozio, Classical, Steinitz, Gajewski, Schliemann and much more.
If you wish to meet my friend as well, please have a look at this instructive DVD on the Ruy Lopez.

New: dangerous weapons in the Pirc & Modern
May 26, 2009 by New in Chess (ADVERTORIALS) · Leave a Comment
Dangerous Weapons: The Pirc and Modern has just arrived.
In this latest volume of the Dangerous Weapons series, Richard Palliser, James Vigus and Colin McNabon present some shocking ideas in these dynamic, interrelated defences.
World Champion Viswanathan Anand, for instance, teaches how you can castle into the Argentinean Attack and Shakhriyar Mamedyarov uses a cunning sidestep against the sharp Austrian Attack.
If you are looking for ideas for White facing the Pirc or the Modern, this book also includes chapters such as ‘An Early Lunge’ (2.h4), ‘Not the 150 Atttack’, and the ‘Delayed Spike’ (6.g4).
Actually there is really too much to mention just here, so if you want
