Chess Explained is an opening series that has been very popular ever since it started. The emphasis in these books is always more on explanation of the main ideas than on encyclopedic depth of an opening.
The latest volume in this series deals with the ever popular Gr?ºnfeld Defence and is written by the Ukrainian trainer and IM Valentin Bogdanov.
The Gr?ºnfeld is a favourite of super GMs Svidler and Morozevich. It also stood its ground well in the hands of Gata Kamsky in his recent match against world number one and opening specialist Veselin Topalov.
The author explains the more popular and important variations in 25 carefully chosen games. With a special contribution on the popular 8.Rb1 system by expert GM Viacheslav Eingorn.
