Mexico here we come

6 September 2007 8:41 AM

It’s about time we bring you the news that’s been whispered many times here at the office. ChessVibes is going to Mexico! Yes, the editor-in-chief does consider himself a lucky bastard to be able to attend the tournament that is officially openened in 5 days and 15 minutes from now but hey, wouldn’t it be shere poverty, such a world championship without the ChessVibes camera around? Stay tuned for more news and surprises.

The tour is over

21 August 2007 12:34 PM

Yesterday afternoon I came home, back from Mainz, and this meant the official end of ChessVibes on tour. Four months I’ve been playing tournaments and making on-the-spot reports - time flies when you’re having fun, the cliche says. Hopefully you, as the audience of this site, have enjoyed it too. For myself I had a great time; finally I’ve carried through my old dream of living the life of a professional chess player for a while. I think I’ve improved my chess a little bit and at the same time I’ve become even more ambitious as far as ChessVibes is concerned. So as from today you can expect the daily chess news reporting you’re used to.

Two ChessVibes editors fired on the spot

26 July 2007 14:06 PM

ChessVibes editors GM Erwin L’Ami and IM Merijn van Delft, both currently participating in the Open Dutch Championships in Dieren, were fired on the spot today. The direct cause is the supposed cheating by Erwin L’Ami during the first and second round, and an incredible story by Merijn van Delft about his stay in Amsterdam last week end.

Welcome at Chessvibes

2 January 2007 13:00 PM

Welcome at Chessvibes! We start the new year with a surprise: a new name and at a new domain. This is all because of the growing number of non-Dutch visitors. Over the borders, Chessvibes sounds better and it’s probably a bit easier to remember as well. full story »

Hopefully he keeps us giving so many nice chess novelties and stories!

Bilingual!

4 September 2006 20:14 PM

Dutch readers probably won’t give a damn, but I have some news that will probably put a smile on the faces of everybody who didn’t have time to learn the Dutch language yet (at least on the face of this blogger!). As from today this website is bilingual! full story »

From Around the World!

30 August 2006 10:01 AM

Readers from around the globe, welcome! I’m delighted that my interview with John Nunn has been mentioned by the international chess media. Not surprisingly, this has a nice effect on my visitors statistics. Unfortunately for you guys, (at least for the moment) I’m not planning to continue this blog in the English language… full story »
