ChessVibes Openings Reaches #250 – Special Offer

ChessVibes Openings reaches #250, The Master's Bulletin soon

This week our first PDF & PGN magazine ChessVibes Openings reached a new milestone: issue #250 was sent to our subscribers last Wednesday. For almost five years already, our editors IM Merijn van Delft and IM Robert Ris have been producing a magazine every week. Due to Chess.com's acquisition of ChessVibes our magazines will soon discontinue, but a new and similar magazine will be launched in December!

To start with, I think some congratulations towards Merijn and Robert are in place, because in my opinion it's a fantastic achievement to make a weekly magazine for such a long time. 250! A wonderful number.

Unfortunately, this is also the moment to announce that both ChessVibes Openings (CVO) and ChessVibes Training (CVT) will be discontinued per 1 December 2013. We have already informed our subscribers, but this article is meant for anyone who was considering to subscribe (again).

Good News
Because of the success of CVO and CVT, the Chess.com staff has decided to launch a brand new magazine, called The Master's Bulletin. This magazine will serve as Chess.com's first and only "subscription based" product, available for purchase separately from their premium membership products. The contents can be described as a combination of both CVO & CVT, with articles on openings, middlegame and endgame as well as background stories. The magazine will be bigger than a CVO and CVT combined, and will appear once a month. The authors will be GMs and IMs from around the world.

The price of this new magazine will be: $7.99 for one issue / $39.99 for 6 months / $69.99 for one year. In Euros that is 5.90 for one issue / 29.65 for 6 months / 51.65 for one year. (Please note that a combination of CVO and CVT was 64 Euros).

The first issue of The Master's Bulletin is scheduled to appear mid-December, with each monthly issue appearing around the 15th of every month.

A similar magazine (with the same title!) was "tested" this summer, but this was only about openings and distributed to Chess.com's titled members. You can find the archive of the current The Master's Bulletin here. But, as mentioned, from December onwards it will be bigger and not for free anymore!

Special Offer
If you start a subscription now, for three months, you will receive both CVO & CVT until December 1st, 2013 and the first two issues of The Master's Bulletin, for the price of only $19.99 ( €14.80). You can subscribe here.

As always, feel free to ask questions.
