Op zich wel mee eens. Maar ook overheerst het gevoel van 'hou op skei uit, managers mond houden, schakers schaken, basta'.

Inmiddels wordt de roep om het ontslag van Danailov steeds groter. Op haar weblog schrijft Susan polgar over hem: "It seems that he has now become a serious liability to Mr. Topalov's reputation. (...) Mr. Topalov's next move off the board may be just as big his next move against Mr. Kramnik."
Ze publiceert ook een reactie van Peter Svidler, die vreest dat Danailovs acties de schaakwereld grtoe schade berokkenen. Vervolgens zegt hij: "What's more, I suspect that Topalov is slowly coming around to that point of view (...) he is aware just how damaged his reputation could be by his manager's actions."

Misschien moet Topalov eens een voorbeeld nemen aan al die tennissers die hun coach ontslaan, of aan Van Bommel en Van Nistelrooy die hun jeugdheld nu keihard afvallen. Het wordt tijd dat Topalov eindelijk volwassen wordt...

Ik denk dat Topalov niet zo gemakkelijk van die Danailov af kan komen. Die Danailov heeft 'm, naar mijn idee, in een ijzeren, contractuele, houtgreep.

Kan Hensel weinig aan doen, de grootste debiel aller tijden Danailov dwingt hem ertoe. Doggy, "Nu weer van de kant van Kramnik" vind ik een zeer ongelukkige formulering.

opvallend: veel mensen neigen ernaar D. de schuld te geven. daarmee kan de schaker (dus goed) topalov vrijut gaan. Nou i kzal wel onthullen: topalov gaat niet vrijuit. Hij is verantwoordelijk voor dit soort gedragingen van Danailov.

Kramnik en Hensel hebben gelijk, het is een zeer reeele dreiging. TOPALOV zou ik graag willen uitroepen tot de onsportiefste schaker aller tijden.

Terwijl de achtste partij alweer in volle gang is, wijs ik graag nog op het interview dat op de FIDE-site staat. @Merijn: inderdaad; het moge duidelijk zijn dat ook ik aan de kant van Kramnik sta. Hoe veel sympathieker en oprechter komt hij weer over. Wat quotes:

Ik zou het zo leuk vinden wanneer Kramnik eens attractief gaat schaken. Op basis van het vertoonde schaak vind ik namelijk dat Topalov de titel meer verdiend. Wanneer Topalov met dezelfde wedstrijd mentaliteit achter het bord gezeten had als Kramnik, dan hadden we nu 7 remises gezien en geen commotie gehad. Dan is dit toch leuker. Ik geloof ook niet zo in die "schade aan de schaaksport" geluiden. Negatieve publiciteit is altijd nog beter dan geen.
