Ivanchuk still has his laptop
In an interview for Chess-News Vassily Ivanchuk said that his laptop was not stolen, last Monday during the robbery in Sao Paulo.
Fortunately my laptop bag was between my feet and they simply didn’t notice it, clearly.
Ivanchuk added that nothing of high material value was stolen.
The most valuable thing for me was my chess set, not in terms of money but in terms of some sort of… I’ve used that chess set for many, many years. I’ve even got a wish: perhaps that chess set can somehow fall into the hands of an intelligent child, and thanks to some sort of magical properties it’ll help that child to become a famous chess player.

It might be because I'm aging, but Chucky's statement about his wish that his beloved chess set ends up in the hands of a child, bringing him/her luck, moved me to tears... :)

You are just human, a nice human being that you need to be proud about.
I loved this statement from Chucky too.

Thankfully, if Chucky's laptop was stolen, he may not be able to rely on his preparation and may needed to have played purely from his intuition and natural genius. Thanks to the laptop not being stolen, this tournament brings a little more parity in this tournament ;-)
