So, as I mentioned, I'm now playing an event in San Sebastian, in what also is a commemorative event of the 1911 San Sebastian tournament, which as far as my best google friend and old chess books remember, was won by Capablanca.

The field is very strong and actually a good summary of it has already been posted here on chessvibes, so I'll focus on what is the main attraction and fun of this tournament, as we play two games simultaneously at the same time, against the same opponent.

I played the first round today, and as I expected time pressure is very important here, and you can simply manage to force your opponent to think a lot in both games without actually being able to spend his whole time on only one game, and I made my life rather easy, and even if I missed a forced win in my game with black, a draw was enough and my opening experimentations went pretty well.

I'm also expecting that at some point I might have to play tie-breaks, which consist of two simultaneous games of 15+10", and then if the tie is not broken, two simultaneous games of 5+3". This can be pretty exhausting but is still pretty much exciting at the same time, and actually 3 seconds per move is probably not enough increment to manage to stabilize time by the end of the games if they're both not finished :)

After having watched those tie-breaks, this definitely is fun, and there is no time to get bored here. I will also obviously enjoy the city tapas bars :)
