Rustam Kamsky speaks

We hadn’t heard from him from a long time: Rustam Kamsky, the father of Gata and mostly known for his explosive character. Recently, he wrote a letter in which he expressed his disappointment in the way Gata’s victory in Khanty-Mansiysk was covered by the media. It includes a lengthy description of Kamsky’s career and how he was hindered by e.g. Karpov and Kasparov. Although Rustam seems to have good intentions, it’s unclear whether Gata should be very happy with support from this direction…
I’m really looking forward to the Rustam-Danailov match.
Bobby Fischer (64) overleden
Oud-wereldkampioen Bobby Fischer is op 64-jarige leeftijd overleden, meldt het nationale radiostation van IJsland.
De in Chicago als Robert James geboren Fischer leerde als zesjarige schaken. Een jaar later werd hij lid van een schaakclub. Zijn eerste wapenfeit was de Amerikaanse jeugdtitel in 1956.In 1958 behaalde hij als jongste speler ooit de Amerikaanse titel.
In 1972 behaalde hij in Reykjavik in een veelbesproken tweekamp tegen Boris Spassky de wereldtitel, waarna een match tegen Anatoli Karpov niet van de grond kwam. Karpov kreeg daarop de FIDE-titel toegewezen. (later meer)

I read so many times that someone won something because of support of KGB… Should American players ask for a comparable support of CIA and FBI? Should British players look for a substantial support of MI-6? Those who are playing for Israel can be easily supported by Mossad, I think, right? Although there is is a straightforward, but rather complicated way: just to understand chess better than others, like Kramnik, Karpov, Fisher (Spassky, Tal, Smyslov, etc. …) did
Kamsky is one of my top favorite players. However, I am tired of this seemingly baseless accusations. Either they produce proofs or shut-up.
