Kramnik tough match for Navara

16 May 2008 11:40 AM | Last modified: 14:14

This week David Navara and Vladimir Kramnik are playing a rapid match in Prague. It’s clear that Navara is facing an opponent who’s very strong - perhaps a bit too strong?

The eight-game rapid match is part of the ÄŒEZ CHESS TROPHY 2008 and is organised by the Prague Chess Society. This year, the annual the event highlights the centennial anniversary of holding the first Prague International Chess Tournament.

Venue is the BM Kampa hotel in Prague; the rate of play is 25 minutes plus five seconds increment for each move. Today is a free day (with simultaneous exhibitions by the 2008 Czech champion Vlastimil Babula and by Vladimir Kramnik) and games 5-8 will be played on Saturday and Sunday, 17:00 and 18:15 hrs CET.

After four games, Kramnik is leading the match 3,5-0,5. Especially the first two games were very impressive. See for yourself:

funny perspective in the kramnik movsesian picture. movsesian looks tiny because he probably stands a meter or so farther from the camera than kramnik. hehe

@Peter.
