[lang_nl]Morelia/Linares is een dubbelrondige achtkamp en wordt gehouden van 14 februari tot 8 maart. Deelnemers zijn Anand, Aronian, Carlsen, Ivanchuk, Leko, Radjabov, Shirov en Topalov.

Het eerste deel vindt plaats van 14 tot 23 februari in het Mexicaanse plaatsje Morelia, waarna de spelers naar Spanje vliegen om van 28 februari tot 8 maart het toernooi in Linares af te maken.

En: slow-starter; duurt altijd even voordat hij doorheeft dat hij een ontzettend sterke toernooispeler is.

Wellicht aan tweede jeugd begonnen, gezien zijn succes in Khanty-Mansyisk. Zwakke punt: Eindigde maar liefst vier keer (gedeeld) onderaan in Linares. Heeft zo nu en dan pyromanische neigingen.
Naam: Peter Leko Land: Hongarije Geboren: 8 september 1979 FIDE-rating: 2753 Ranking: 8e plaats Sterke punt: Solide baasje. Verliest zelden. Aardige gast. Zwakke punt: Te aardige gast. Wil liever niet verliezen dan winnen. Secondant is eigen schoonvader, kan een keer fout gaan.
		Naam: Vassily Ivanchuk Land: Oekra?ɬØne Geboren: 18 maart 1969 FIDE-rating: 2751 Ranking: 9e plaats Sterke punt: Ervaren en onberekenbaar. Drievoudig winnaar (1989, 1991 en 1995). Oftewel: "Ik won hier het vaakst." Zwakke punt: Oudste deelnemer. Won al een tijdje geen supertoernooi meer. Schijnt druk niet aan te kunnen, ondanks brede schouders.

Speelt Konings-Indisch bijna zo succesvol als Kasparov. Spreekt (en denkt!?) sneller dan zijn schaduw. Zwakke punt: Past niet goed op zijn laptop. Houdt niet van de Armeense snack semushka.
Naam: Magnus Carlsen Land: Noorwegen Geboren: 30 november 1990 FIDE-rating: 2733 Ranking: 13e plaats Sterke punt: Grootste talent ter wereld. Schijnt namelijk zelden eigen partijen te analyseren en veel op de tennisbaan gesignaleerd te worden, terwijl hij toch gedeeld eerste eindigde bij Corus, op 17-jarige leeftijd. Gaat verder komen dan Michael Chang. Zwakke punt: zijn backhand.

The first part takes place 14-23 February in the Mexican city of Morelia, after which the players fly to Spain for the second part of the tournament: February 28 - March 8 in Linares.

And: slow-starter; it always takes some time before he realizes he's a terribly strong tournament player.

Might have started a second youth, if we take Khanty-Mansyisk into account. Weak point: Finished (shared) last no less than four times in Linares. Has a tendency for pyromania every now and then.

Had won this tournament already before one of the participants was born. (Three times actually: 1989, 1991 and 1995). Weak point: Oldest participant. Hasn't won a super tournament for a while. Said to have difficulties with pressure, despite torso.

LINARES

Linares is a city located in the Andalusian province of Ja?ɬ©n, Spain. With its approximately 60,000 inhabitants, it's about ten times as small as Morelia. It's famous for being the birthplace of both Andr?ɬ©s Segovia and the singer Raphael.

The hotel Anibal, where the tournament is always taking place, has the same name as the model as the terrain-vehicle produced by car company Santana Motor, which makes vehicles for the Spanish army and is located in Linares (Wikipedia).
