Baden-Baden close to defending their title

BundesligaAfter a hard-fought 4-4 against Werder Bremen, reigning German champion Baden-Baden is close to defending their title. Among the winners of the weekend are also Solingen and Tegernsee, who are on second and third places with two more Bundesliga rounds to go.

The fight between Baden-Baden and Werder Bremen on Sunday, one of the strongest matches ever held in the Bundesliga, certainly met the expectations. It was a tense and exciting match from start to finish that eventually ended in a 4-4 tie and so Baden-Baden virtually secured a new title.

In the last Bundesliga weekend (28-29 March 2009), the reigning champions need only two points in their matches against Solingen and Wattenscheid to win their fourth title in a row.
