When watching this game live, I didn't believe when I saw that black was loosing the quality after 14. Be3. My surprise became even higher when I've noticed black was in fact loosing a whole piece in the opening..! What the hell is this type of theory..? As a club player I learned that a well played game crosses the three phases of opening, middle game and ending...it seems this one ended during the opening..! It seems to me this is one of the characteristics of nowadays chess heavily based not in long term strategies, but derived from "coup by coup" heavy computer analysis, when a single disinformation about a move in the opening can cause one to be trapped into a digital nightmare and collapse into the opening phase...! Anyway I have to say this was a spectacular game well played by Dominguez. And thanks a lot Mr. Leinier for the excellent analysis!
