After 1.Nxg7 R8e5 2.f4 Rxf4 Black seems to have everything covered and the white knight has nowhere to go, but White can try 3.Ne8 with the idea that 3...Rxe8 is met by 4.Bxf4 winning the exchange because the black bishop on d5 is hanging. The problem with this line is that Black is not forced to play 3...Rxe8.

After 3...Qc6 (keeping the pin on the white bishop hitting the knight on e8) White can play 4.Qh6 forcing 4...Bf8 and after 5.Qxc6 Bxc6 6.Bxf4 Rxe8 White is up the exchange but Black has a pawn and the bishop pair as compensation. I think White is better here, but hardly winning.

4.Nxd6 is interesting, with the neat trap: 4...Qxd6? is met by 5.Bxf4! pinning the black rook which had been pinning the white bishop. But Black is not obliged to capture on d6. He can hit the white bishop with 4...f6 (or maybe 4...h6?). Maybe 4.Nxd6 leads to a winning line for White?

I agree with you huracino that 1.Nxg7 looks like the right move - but it's rather complicated!

Nice line, but 1...Kxg7 is not forced. What does White play after 1...R8e5?
