I would like to see Nigel do well. Although he's in his early forties he's still considered a bit of an old man, now. He's hugely talented, doesn't take himself too seriously and he's an encouragement to all of us of about that age that it's not all downhill when you hit 30. (He's recovery from a couple of years back has been spectacular). I know he's highly opinionated and ruffles a lot of feathers. I think that's great. I don't always agree with him, but I always have a chuckle at the reactions that he provokes ! I'd like to see him do well in this match and I'm looking forward to following the London Chess Classic. Go Nigel !

Nigel plays without a second while his rival enlists the considerable talents of one Alexander Beliavsky, who can still duke it out with the best at an age most GMs are into the fast fade mode. Will NIgel come short? Is a loss in the first game a harbinger? No, I think not. Nigel's talents are prodigious. He will regroup and prevail in the end. Go long, Short!
