[lang_nl]Vandaag is de 2e ACP World Rapid Cup begonnen in Odessa (Oekra?ɬØne). Zestien spelers, die zich plaatsten via de ACP Tour 2006-2007, strijden in een kort knockout-toernooi (rapid dus) om een eerste prijs van 40.000 dollar (vorig jaar was Leko de gelukkige). Jakovenko versloeg op de eerste speeldag Savchenko met 2-0, Radjabov won met 1,5-0,5 van Drozdovsky, en met dezelfde cijfers versloeg Ivanchuk zijn landgenoot Eljanov en ging Shirov... jawel, onderuit, tegen Inarkiev. Morgen komen Leko, Najer, Karjakin, Svidler, Shabalov, Gelfand, Karpov (!) en Judit Polgar in actie.[/lang_nl][lang_en]Today the 2nd ACP World Rapid Cup began in Odessa (Ukraine). Sixteen players, who had qualified from the ACP Tour 2006-2007, are fighting in a short knockout event (rapid) for a first prize of 40.000 dollars. (Last year, Leko won the cup). On the first day, Jakovenko beat Savchenko 2-0, Radjabov defeated Drozdovsky 1.5-0.5 and with the same figures Ivanchuk beat his compatriot Eljanov and Shirov was... yes, eliminated, by Inarkiev. Tomorrow Leko, Najer, Karjakin, Svidler, Shabalov, Gelfand, Karpov (!) and Judit Polgar play.[/lang_en]

Not the strongest, this tournament. Where are Anand, Kramnik, Topalov, Carlsen? Preparing for Corus?

8th seed is Leko (as in the article text) or Grischuk (as in the tournament table)?

In the table I've used the January ratings. I think the tournament is using the October ratings.
