[lang_nl]Gisteren was het de dag van Ivanchuk bij Melody Amber. In een briljante rapidpartij versloeg hij Kramnik met zwart, een zeldzame nederlaag met wit voor de wereldkampioen. Gedeeld bovenaan staan nu Ivanchuk, Kramnik en Aronian. Anand kwam weer wat dichterbij na twee overwinningen op Van Wely.[/lang_nl][lang_en]Yesterday was Ivanchuk's day at Melody Amber. In a brilliant rapid game he beat Kramnik with Black, a rare loss for the world champion with White. Anand came a bit closer with two victories over Van Wely.[/lang_en]

[lang_nl]Ivanchuk is een genie en zo nu en dan komt dit er helemaal uit. In de rapidpartij versloeg hij Kramnik in zijn specialiteit: het eindspel. Zelfs Kasparov was laaiend enthousiast over zetten als 11...b5! en 23?¢‚Ǩ¬¶.Pce7!. Het lijkt erop dat 22.Lf1? al verliezend is (maar 22.Tb2 Txb2 23.Lxb2 Pxb4 is ook geen pretje). Eerder op de dag hadden de heren een rustige blindremise gespeeld.

Zeer wild was de minimatch tussen Leko en Carlsen. De blindpartij was al zeer attractief en de rapidpartij niet veel minder. Helaas voor Magnus miste hij drie keer de winst. 15.cxb6 had hij met wit wel tot winst gevoerd en in de zwartpartij was 14?¢‚Ǩ¬¶Dd8 15. Dg3 Dxd5+ 16.Ke2 Dxh1 sterk, hoewel dit nog wel even afgemaakt moet worden, maar 16?¢‚Ǩ¬¶Dg4+ 17.Kf2 Dh4+ 18.Ke2 Lg4+ 19.Kd2 Lb4+ was wel meteen finito geweest. Radjabov-Morozevich (rapid) is interessant voor Konings-Indisch-liefhebbers: de specialist zelf pakt het met wit met 5.h3 aan! En wat de KID betreft: zelfs Peter Svidler is het gaan spelen. Hij remiseerde ermee tegen Aronian in de rapidpartij, en ook hun blindpartij werd remise.

Bij Vallejo-Gelfand was 26.Lxh6 een aardig grapje; het duurt even voordat je ziet dat het de ongedekte toren op b8 is waar het om draait. Het mooiste tactische moment was het einde van Anand-Van Wely (blind), een lekkere combi, zeker zonder bord en stukken.

In the rapid game he beat Kramnik in his speciality: the endgame. Even Kasparov was super enthousiastic about moves such as 11...b5! and 23?¢‚Ǩ¬¶.Nce7!. It seems like 22.Bf1? is already losing (but 22.Rb2 Rxb2 23.Bxb2 Nxb4 is no fun either). Earlier on the day the two gentlemen had played a quiet blindfold draw.

Very wild was the minimatch between Leko and Carlsen. Unfortunately for Magnus he missed three wins. 15.cxb6 with White, and with Black 14?¢‚Ǩ¬¶Qd8 15. Qg3 Qxd5+ 16.Ke2 Qxh1 was stong, but you still have to win it, but 16?¢‚Ǩ¬¶Qg4+ 17.Kf2 Qh4+ 18.Ke2 Bg4+ 19.Kd2 Bb4+ would have been finito). Radjabov-Morozevich (rapid) is interesting for King's Indian Defence afficionados: the specialist himself handles it with 5.h3! And speaking of the KID: even Peter Svidler is now playing it. He used the defence to draw against Aronian in the rapid game, and their blindfold game also ended peacefully.

Vallejo-Gelfand saw the small tactical stroke 26.Bxh6; it takes a while before you see that the unprotected rook on b8 is what it's about. The best tactical moment was the finish of Anand-Van Wely (blindfold), a nice combi, especially without board and pieces.
