The tournament, a milestone for the Association of Chess Professionals, was held from the 4th till the 8th of January in the Londonskaya Hotel in Odessa, Ukraine. Leko defeated Vassily Ivanchuk in the final and in doing so, assured himself of $ 40.000.[/lang_en]

[lang_nl]De organisatoren mogen terugkijken op een uiterst geslaagd evenement. De partijen werden live uitgezonden op internet en ter plaatse was Viktor Korchnoi (terug in de top 100 van de FIDE-ratinglijst!) om commentaar op de partijen te verzorgen. Bovendien had het toernooi een geweldige website, waarop dagelijkse verslaggeving met veel foto's verscheen, maar ook een link naar commentaar van GM Sergei Shipov (helaas alleen in het Russisch) en 'blogs' van de spelers. En waren er een paar filmpjes te zien - beter gezegd: linkjes naar YouTube waar de filmpjes vrij te bezichtigen zijn. En dus ook hier te tonen!

The games were live transmitted on the internet and in Odessa, Viktor Korchnoi (back in the top 100 of the FIDE-rating list!) was there to comment on the games. Furthermore, the tournament had a fantastic website, where a lot of reports with pictures were published daily, but there was also a link to commentary by GM Sergei Shipov (unfortunately only in Russian) and players' 'blogs'.
