[lang_nl]Simen Agdestein over Magnus Carlsen[/lang_nl][lang_en]Simen Agdestein on Magnus Carlsen[/lang_en]

It was about his appearance in the Norwegian version of Dancing with the Stars, about his football career, about him playing the piano and of course about Carlsen, lots of Magnus Carlsen.[/lang_en]

Hier een diepte-interview (27 min.) met de veelzijdige Noorse grootmeester.[/lang_nl][lang_en]That Simen Agdestein from Norway can play decent chess, you knew already. And that he's coaching quite a famous young boy, is a known fact too. Even the fact that he used to be a professional soccer player, is common knowledge. But did you know he can also play the piano?

Here's an in-depth interview (27 min.) with the Norwegian grandmaster.[/lang_en]

[lang_nl]Agdestein vertelde al veel over de carri?ɬ®re van Carlsen tot nu toe, maar als je er nog meer over wilt weten, dan is zijn boek Wonderboy zeer aan te bevelen.[/lang_nl][lang_en]Agdestein told a lot about Carlsen's career so far, but if you want to know more about it, we can certainly recommend his book Wonderboy.[/lang_en]

Agdestein defeated Bareev with black in the World junior championship in Norway in 1986 in the final round in a very memorable game (a nimzo-indian). As a result Bareev who was leading till then lost the championship to Arencibia. I think Agdestein came second. Bareev sat in the hall way pondering his defeat for a while. He was obviously devastated.

I think Simen is almost more famous in Norway than Magnus is. Simen was the only known chess player until Magnus came along. And he was also a very good football (soccer) player. After participating in "Dancing with the stars" (or something like that) he became well even more known. But of course, he was already one of "the stars", so he is well known.

And he seems like a very nice person to me, and he has a great reputation in Norway.

Do you have any more pictures of this chess girl, Ariane Caioli. On and off the board, everything will do. Strictly chess, of course.
