ShirovIf you like, on this rest day at Corus you can spend some time and learn from top grandmasters. In this post we publish both press conferences Alexei Shirov gave, after round 3 and 4, and an ICC Game of the Day video, in which Peter Svidler explains the game Short-Nakamura from round 3. Enjoy!

Actually Peter does more often a game of the day for icc although the last year he didnt :-(

To be honest I like the videos of Chrisitansen and Benjamin most.

I was @ corus tournement yesterday and took a pic with Nakamura :-)

    cool!
really high class analysis. thx for that!
this is really different to average GM commentary.
shirov and svidler master all aspects and bring it to you in a way you understand everything. by watching svilders GOTD I learned a whole opening with some subtle differences in move order and much about putting up ressistance in a slightly worse position, which short couldn’t manage.
the shirov commenatry showed once more why he considers himself mainly a calculator :-) – a pretty good one!

Why Nigel didnt chose the Rauzer attack is really amusing !? The Boleslavsky gives Black atleast equal chances and Nigel has played the Rauzer attack before in his career, or if he wants to avoid theory, then why not 6.h3 !? ?

Was on ICC when Svidler did the full day of commentary. Brilliant – we all agreed we’d buy any analysis he decided to release. Humorous, insightful and precise – what more could one ask for?

It always fills me with joy to watch how much Shirov actually sees during a game!
    Very Nice!

Stumbled on this page as I was surfing for information on the 2010 corus…..
and watch the Vid on game of the day……….how cool is that?!

I would like to make me a copy of the vid for my library but found it is protected and would need software to do so!!!

Short’s play on the Q side with his pawns………I thought is was not very well done and the vid shows.
