Also after seven rounds it is Alexander Moiseenko who tops the standings at the European Individual Championship in Legnica, Poland. The Ukrainian grandmaster collected 6 points. In the group with 5.5 points, just behind him, we find veteran GM Alexander Beliavsky as well as Francisco Vallejo Pons, who announced a break about half a year ago....

In the last four rounds the standings at the Geneva Women's Grand Prix have changed considerably. Sergey Karjakin took an early lead at the Norway Chess tournament in Sandnes. The Russian grandmaster won his second game in a row against Jon Ludvig Hammer on Thursday. Igor Kurnosov won the strong Nakhchivan Open which took place from 21st April to 1st May in Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan. The Chelyabinsk grandmaster scored 6.5 points out of 9 and edged out Alexander Shimanova Alexander (Russia) and Gadir Guseinov (Azerbaijan) on tiebreak. Shimanov came second.
