In the West a man with a mask is generally frowned upon unless he has a matching black cape and fights injustice.

What’s all this about the mask?
I’ll leave it up to the medical profession whether or not this is a good idea.

However: fact of the matter is that people simply do not do this in the west, it is not a custom at all like it might be in certain Asian countries.
In the west you look like an idiot if you do this.

Second: a sore throat IS NOT the flu.

Everybody knows that its only in the first stage of sickness that you are
able to contaminate others . Only Kramnik played Carlsen within that period.
Ivanchuk is just mentally weak and a sissy.!

I’ve never seen for example Kramnik play with a mask when he has been sick (as in Corus 2008), so hardly strange that Carlsen also plays without a mask.

People should simply not play chess if they are ill, its simply disrespectful to the opponent and everybody else in the playing hall.

I completely agree. I feel it´s not very nice of him to go spreading his illness among his opponents and then comment on how ridiculous Ivanchuk´s mask is.
