In the last four rounds the standings at the Geneva Women's Grand Prix have changed considerably. After round 8, Kateryna Lagno (Ukraine), who was at the top after four days, has dropped to third place behind GM Anna Muzychuk (Slovenia) and IM Bela Khotenashvili (Georgia). Gata Kamsky and Irina are still leading the U.S. Championship and the U.S. Women's Championship after six rounds of play. Sergey Karjakin took an early lead at the Norway Chess tournament in Sandnes. The Russian grandmaster won his second game in a row against Jon Ludvig Hammer on Thursday. In the same round Wang Hao recovered and beat Peter Svidler, while Levon Aronian defeated Hikaru Nakamura. The big game Carlsen-Anand as well as Topalov-Radjabov ended in a draw....

Igor Kurnosov won the strong Nakhchivan Open which took place from 21st April to 1st May in Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan.
