USA win Pan-American Team Championship

The 9th Pan-American Team Championship was won by the USA, who finished with 10 match points out of 6 matches. The other three participating teams were Cuba, Brazil and Uruguay. The tournament took place from 24th till 30th January in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

In the first round USA beat (the higher rated) Cuba and eventually they clinched the title with a round to spare. This way, the Americans qualified for the World Team Championship, scheduled to be held in Antalya, Turkey in December 2013. More info at US Chess Champs.
