De muziek paste niet echt deze keer vond ik maar wel een leuk interview
Nice little movie. First time I’ve heard Tivi speak. Somehow his voice seems bigger than the man himself.
Today he again did a good job defending a tough position. Maybe he should be the winner of this tournament. If you score the only win, who can argue…
If Giri wins against Tiviakov he can still win this tournament with 3 1/2 points.
Tivi is a very subtle player. His style might not be that spectacular but to me it is very impressive. What I did not know yet is how excellent his Dutch is. How about Giri? How long before he will surpass Tivi? In speaking Dutch I mean of course.
@misja: Who am I (a German living in NL, still having an accent talking Dutch) to decide? But IMO Giri has already surpassed Tiviakov as far as Dutch is concerned – at least he is also talented when it comes to languages.

A superb game and win by Tiviakov! I was very impressed by his deep understanding of the position. Thank you for the video especially the diagram and the player’s explanation of what constitutes correct play . Very entertaining and most of all instructive.
@Thomas.
Indeed Giri speaks Dutch very well. He changes fluently from Russian to English to Dutch. When you learn two languages very young, in his case problably Russian and Nepalese, it’s easier to learn an additional one. Also speaking Japanese makes it surely exceptional. He might, en passant, be the most tongue-gifted 15-year old living in Holland.
In the papers there’s more attention to him than to Tiviakov, which is a bit sad for Tivi, who in the meantime is accustomed to underappreciations. In the video he appears to be rational, realistic, respectful and remarkably selfassured. Not a follower of fashion, neither in opening trends nor in clothing.
@Thomas: Thank you very much for the link!!
