Last Sunday we reported on the Moscow Blitz tournament which was won by Alexander Morozevich. Meanwhile, videos from this event have appeared on YouTube.

As we reported on Sunday, Alexander Morozevich won the Moscow Blitz Championship for this 6th time. He finished on 17/21 which was two points more than Vladimir Malakhov. The tournament itself was held for the 66th time already, outside the Institute of Architecture, Media and Design in the Russian capital. The rate of play was 3 minutes and 2 seconds increment per move.

Evgeny Potemkin is a regular visitor of events in Moscow, and he often brings his camera. At his YouTube channel dozens of videos from the blitz tournament were posted. As these are always fun to watch, we'll embed a few here:

The last video is arguably the most interesting. For anyone who has ever wondered how strong FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov plays, here's his game against the robot that was playing there as well (though not participating in the blitz). We recognize the opponent is the KUKA monster we wrote about here!

As we mentioned in Sunday's report, this experience inspired Ilyumzhinov to hold a chess tournament among robots on Mars.
