The three GMs are on four points out of six games, with an excellent tpr. Oh yeah, and there’s one other player doing pretty fine there.[/lang_en]

[/lang_nl][lang_en]We left the tournament after the fifth round. The sixth was played on Friday and for the first time this tournament, not one encounter was decided. Still, one game was one of the most interesting so far: Shirov-Karjakin.
Today there were three quick draws and three victories. Alekseev-Shirov finished peacefully after nineteen moves and compatriots Karjakin and Ivanchuk had enough of it even move earlier. Thanks to sixteen moves of Marshall theory Volokitin-Svidler took a bit longer, but it was mainly interesting for theoreticians. Still, such games are part of professional chess as well.
Eljanov beat Onischuk with Black today and in a Classical Scheveningen, Jakovenko defeated Van Wely after some impressive preparation, although it looks like Black could have saved himself somewhere in the ending.
And then there was that other dude. You know who. He’s starting to exaggerate and apparently needed to win one more time. Which was not so difficult against Nisipeanu today, who played the opening phase like a mediocre player from the 1930s. Is it fear? Is it disbelief? In any case, in the middlegame he had no chance against the tournament leader, who put down a 3000 plus performance today. But we’re not going to talk about him.

Who is this N.N. from the last picture?
Some random guy from Norway (that’s all I could get from those weird letters)
Random guy? Ranked nr 5 in the world! Magnus Carlsen
” Ranked nr 5 in the world! Magnus Carlsen” doesnt ring any bell, sorry.
He can’t be from Norway, Norwegians don’t use the cyrillic alphabet.
nah, even his juice is cyrillic; must be a local guy
All Norwegians are named Carlsen or so, thus Mikki’s hint is of no use anyway…
According to my calculations, if Magnus scores 3/4 in the final 4 rounds then he is the new world no.1!
Carlsen still has to play two of the chasing pack, Volokitin and Karjakin as well as tail-ender Onischuk and Jakovenko, who incidentally has played exactly to his rating in this tournament thus far.
I have little doubt that Magnus will beat Onischuk and Jakovenko, but beating Karjakin or Volokitin is an uncertainty. Still, there is no doubt he will at least draw!
Heia N.N.!
Oh, it’s only that guy Kapaceh from Hopberir. Never mind him.
I agree he exaggerates, next he’ll bring a gallon of that superdrink.
The real question is, how long and who’ll be next?
Above 40, rollators seems to be mandatory in chess
Exept Kortsjnoj that is……
Lot off slow joke’s. Think creatiev boys. Not that boring stuff over and over again !
