Stunning footage Kasparov simul in AntwerpOn October 13th, for the third time in a row Garry Kasparov gave a simul in Antwerp, Belgium against a number of CEO’s, politicians and children. Nigel Short was there as well to give live commentary, and everything was set in a studio and filmed with different cameras by a professional TV crew. Mahjoob breaks Guinness Simultaneous Chess World RecordGM Morteza Mahjoob broke the Guinness Simultaneous Chess World Record. He played against 500 chess players in the biggest simul ever, held in Tehran, which started at 10.00 AM on Thursday, August 13 and finished at 04.00 AM of the next day. Ponomariov blindfold simulEx-World Champion Ruslan Ponomariov beat eight Basque players in a blindfold simultaneous chess exhibition that took place during the annual chess tournament organized by Eire tavern, in Gipuzkoa, Spain. Mee in mijn dwaze, na?ɬØeve maar ook brutale en toch vooral leuke plan om af te reizen naar Lint, Belgi?ɬ´, en daar Garry Kasparov te gaan interviewen. Als we zouden vertellen dat we meteen in de auto waren gesprongen toen we hoorden van de simultaan, dat we helemaal uit het verre Amsterdam waren gekomen en dat we na allerlei omwegen eindelijk en net op tijd die televisiestudio in dat kleine Belgische plaatsje gevonden hadden, wie zou ons dan nog een interviewtje durven weigeren?[/lang_nl][lang_en]“What the heck, let’s just go. If you don’t try…” This was all I needed to convince co-editor Arne, yesterday around five in the afternoon, to join. Join my foolish, naive but also bold, and, above all, fun plan to travel to Lint, Belgium, to interview Gary Kasparov. Je kunt de partijen volgen maar je kunt ook kijken naar de AnandCam die beelden uitzendt van Anand tijdens de simultaan vanuit zijn huis in Spanje. De avond wordt gehost door Mig en Macauley.
