Ian Nepomniachtchi and Alexey Dreev are tied for first place after five rounds at the World Rapid Championship in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia. The two Russian grandmasters scored 4.5/5. Alexey Dreev scored another rapid success after his victory at the European Championship last week. The Russian grandmaster won the final of the Rapid Grand Prix of Russia which took place 23-24 December 2012. Dreev beat Vladislav Artemiev in the final 1.5-0.5. Alexey Dreev (Russia), Igor Kurnosov (Russia) and Vladislav Tkachiev (France) qualified for the Rapid World Championship final which starts next Friday.
