As FIDE now publishes its rating lists on a monthly basis, the new lists have come out already. In the men's list World Champion Vishy Anand dropped to 6th place; the Indian is now behind Sergey Karjakin who won 6 points in Dortmund. In the women's list Anna Muzychuk has overtaken Hou Yifan in second place behind Judit Polgar.

Ali Nihat Yazici, the President of the Turkish Chess Federation, has proposed to "suspend from FIDE" the seven chess federations that started two court cases against the World Chess Federation recently. The proposal is put on the agenda of the FIDE Congress which will be held next month in Istanbul.

The FIDE Ethics Commission has confirmed the French Chess Federation's suspension of Sébastien Feller, Arnaud Hauchard and Cyril Marzolo for cheating at the Chess Olympiad in Khanty-Mansiysk in September 2010. The judgement was published today at the FIDE website.

Once more we'll return to the the case between the English & Georgian chess federations vs FIDE, which was dismissed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on July 3rd. Yesterday Nigel Short sent us a letter in which he responds to FIDE's reponse to his comments on how FIDE reported on the case on July 5th.
