On Saturday Hikaru Nakamura lost his third consecutive game in London. The American grandmaster played the Exchange Ruy Lopez against Vassily Ivanchuk, who won the ending after 58 moves and 6 hours of play. Rustam Kasimdzhanov beat Michael Adams and as all other games were drawn, Boris Gelfand is still leading the pack at the FIDE Grand Prix....

Humpy Koneru won the sixth and last FIDE Women's Grand Prix on Friday in Ankara, Turkey. The Indian grandmaster scored 8/11, half a point more than Anna Muzychuk. Humpy finished second in the overall Grand Prix series behind Hou Yifan. The Chinese had already clinched the first place at the previous GP in Jermuk.

Boris Gelfand grabbed an early lead at the London FIDE Grand Prix on Friday, scoring the only win in the first round. The Israeli grandmaster defeated top seed Hikaru Nakamura (USA) with Black in a Sveshnikov Sicilian. Ten more rounds will be played in Simpson's-in-the-Strand in central London.
