Zhao Xue won the 3rd Women's Grand Prix tournament in Nalchik, Russia with the super score of 9.5/11. The Chinese grandmaster had even started with 9.5/10 but lost in the last round. Nonetheless she finished 2.5 points ahead of the rest of the field.

Hou Yifan also won the second tournament in the FIDE Women's Grand Prix Series 2011-2012. Just like last month in Rostov, the reigning World Champion from China scored 8/11 and this time she remained undefeated. After winning the first Women Grand Prix last month, Hou Yifan has good chances to win the second as well. The Women's World Champion is leading the standings in Shenzhen, China after eight rounds, with six points - half a point more than her compatriot Zhao Xue.

It was practically impossible, but Humpy Koneru did it anyway. In the last two rounds the Indian caught Elina Danielian in the standings at the FIDE Grand Prix in Doha. In doing so, Koneru finished ahead of Nana Dzagnidze in the overall GP standings and qualified for a World Title match against Hou Yifan.

At the FIDE Women Grand Prix in Doha, Qatar Elina Danielian leads by a point after nine of eleven rounds. Humpy Koneru probably missed a win against Xu Yuhua, and so a qualification for the world title match is far away for the Indian.
