Liviu-Dieter Nisipeanu (Romania) and Sergey Volkov (Russia) tied for first place at the Ortisei Open in Val Gardena, Italy. Both grandmasters scored 7/9 and finished half a point ahead of GMs Igor Khenkin, Eric Hansen, Felix Levin, Gil Popilski and IM Aman Hambleton.
