Scoring his first win ever with Black against Anand, Carlsen won his minimatch against the World Champ 1.5-0.5, and so did Topalov against Wang Yue today. All other minimatches ended in 1-1 and so Aronian and Morozevich still share the lead in the combined tournament. Video added!

Easily beating debutant Wang Yue in both games, Alexander Morozevich has joined Levon Aronian in the lead at the Amber tournament in Nice. The Armenian played 1-1 against Leko; the same score in Topalov-Karjakin and Carlsen-Ivanchuk. Anand won his minimatch against Kamsky 1¬?-¬?, and Kramnik did the same versus Radjabov.

After six rounds Carlsen, Nakamura and Svidler had all collected four points (Lie lost all six games) and so a playoff was needed to determine the finalists of the Aker Chess Challenge.
