After two rounds Levon Aronian, Magnus Carlsen and Alexander Grischuk are in shared first place at the 2011 Amber Blindfold and Rapid Tournament. Carlsen beat Gashimov 2-0 today to get to the top in the rapid section while Aronian and Grischuk have 1.5/2 in the blindfold.

Levon Aronian, Vugar Gashimov, Alexander Grischuk and Boris Gelfand all had an excellent start at the Amber Blindfold and Rapid Tournament, winning their mini-matches 2-0. Magnus Carlsen and Viswanathan Anand won 1.5-0.5 against Hikaru Nakamura and Veselin Topalov respectively.

This year's rapid tournament in Cap d'Agde was won by Vassily Ivanchuk, who beat Hikaru Nakamura in the final 1.5-0.5 yesterday. In doing so the Ukrainian grandmaster took revenge for his loss in the final last year against the same opponent.
