Yuriy Kryvoruchko is the new Ukrainian Champion. The 26-year-old grandmaster from Lviv edged out Ruslan Ponomariov on tiebreak (Sonneborn-Berger) after both grandmasters had finished on 7.5/11. Anton Korobov won the Ukrainian Championship in Kiev convincingly, finishing a point ahead of Alexander Areshchenko and Andrei Volokitin. Korobov's 8/11 was good for a 2831 TPR.
