Bilingual!

De Nederlandse lezers zal het een zorg wezen, maar voor iedereen van buiten de landsgrenzen (en vooral voor deze trotse blogger) is er reden tot vrolijkheid. Vanaf vandaag is deze website namelijk tweetalig!
Dutch readers probably won’t give a damn, but I have some news that will probably put a smile on the faces of everybody who didn’t have time to learn the Dutch language yet (at least on the face of this blogger!). As from today this website is bilingual!

Mijn systeem Wordpress is open-source en dankzij de vele plugins kun je aan je website sleutelen tot je erbij neervalt. Vanavond heb ik de plugin Polyglot met succes geïnstalleerd. Af en toe (of misschien wel vaker dan af en toe) zal er rechtsboven bij een artikel een klein vlaggetje (de vlag van Groot-Brittannië) verschijnen, zoals bij deze. Daarop klikken is voldoende om het artikel in het Engels te kunnen lezen.

Een geweldig lollige feature natuurlijk, maar het gevolg is wel dat je twee keer zo veel aan het schrijven bent. Geen idee dus of ik dit veel ga doen. Maar ja, de wereld ligt nu wel aan mijn voeten natuurlijk.
Opmerkingen over foutief of krom Engels zijn welkom. Maar niet te veel hè.

The system I’m using, Wordpress, is open-source and thanks to the many plugins, webmasters can tinker till they drop. Tonight I installed the plugin Polyglot successfully. Every now and then (or maybe a bit more than that) a tiny British flag will appear in the upper right of an article, just like this one. A click on the flag is enough to read the article in English!

Which is a jolly-good feature of course, but it means I’m writing twice as much text as before. So I have no idea if I will do this a lot. However, now the world is at my feet of course.
Remarks about wrong or crooked English are welcome. But not too many, okay?
