The tour is over

Yesterday afternoon I came home, back from Mainz, and this meant the official end of ChessVibes on tour. Four months I’ve been playing tournaments and making on-the-spot reports - time flies when you’re having fun, the cliche says. Hopefully you, as the audience of this site, have enjoyed it too. For myself I had a great time; finally I’ve carried through my old dream of living the life of a professional chess player for a while. I think I’ve improved my chess a little bit and at the same time I’ve become even more ambitious as far as ChessVibes is concerned. So as from today you can expect the daily chess news reporting you’re used to.

    Misschien kun je het NH chess tournament nog als onderdeel van de tour beschouwen…..

    Welkom terug! Ik benijd je ;-)
    Zeg, jij kent toevallig geen fotografen die aanwezig waren op het Max Euweplein schaakfestival van afgelopen zaterdag, he?
    Ik wil namelijk graag in het bezit komen van een foto die daar is genomen van mijzelf. Een foto die is genomen tijdens een simultaan tegen Marlies Bensdorp.

    Hm. Well, actually in Mainz I did not participate and Pardubice was my worst tournament but thanks anyway! :-)

    Hmm… Het ziet er naar uit dat het geen van beide is als ik ze op gegoogelde foto’s zie. Hij had wel een bril, langig haar (donkerblond) en was wat magertjes. Ik schat hem ergens in de 40. Ik had ook al contact opgenomen met het Euwe centrum zelf, maar die reageren niet zo snel (als ze al reageren). Waarschijnlijk teveel bezig met het schaken “booming” te maken ;-)

    Welcome home! I enjoyed your postings. Consider yourself extra fortunate. Most of us can’t go on a chess tour. Time to write a book about it.
