Thanks Hans!

3 October 2006 18:20 PM

NRCThat’s nice. Chess columnist and grandmaster Hans Ree compliments me today with my website, in his weekly column for the Dutch quality newspaper NRC.

Hopefully I didn’t mow the grass from his feet too much; hopefully I didn’t eat the cheese from his bread, to quote two Dutch expressions literally (expressing he would seem redundant). He writes:

Ree“There can be found so much on the internet about the toilet war that raged in Elista at the Wch match between Kramnik and Topalov, that I will let go of it over here. But it gives me the opportunity to mention the Dutch chess site www.doggers-schaak.nl, where everything was being followed closely.”

Especially this quote is nice:

“It’s an admirable achievement, a hobby site with the appearance of a professional company.”

Well, that really encourages me. Thanks, Hans!
