In Gibraltar! - video added

28 January 2008 16:39 PM | Last modified: 16:26

Corus has barely finished and ChessVibes is already present at the next big tournament for video reports.

There are quicker ways to go to the UK, but early morning I got onto a plane, destination Malaga, and by bus and car went straight out of Spain and right into Gibraltar. Here I will do (video) reports of the Gibtelecom Chess Festival, about which two articles were already published during Corus.

Just a few hours in the Caleta Hotel, I’ve already met many big British names, such as Stewart Reuben (for ages the godfather of British chess - he organised many Hastings and Lloyds Bank tournaments), John Saunders (editor-in-chief of the British Chess Magazine, blogger and over here content manager of the website) and Stuart Conquest (GM, living in the south of Spain and speaking Spanish fluently, but over here doing his web commentary in the language of the country we’re in).

For more general information on the festival I refer to the previous articles (see below); for now I’ll leave the press room again to shoot some more footage. So stay tuned for more videos this week!

Update 19:58h

    Peter,

Waar haal je toch al die tijd vandaan om al die videoreports te gaan maken overal ter wereld? Heb je zo’n inschikkelijke baas ofzo ;)

In ieder geval leuk om dit toernooi ook weer op een mooie manier te kunnen volgen!

Keep up the good work. Your coverage of Corus 2008 once again was absolutely convincing. Your website used to be an interesting alternative to the big ones. This has changed. By now, Chessvibes is no longer an alternative, it’s first choice.

    Hi Peter,
it’s really impressive - the whole Corus-Transmission and it just continues with Gibraltar! Philipp is right: Chessvibes is first choice!!

Peter- Great Work!!! Love the video!!! You’re turning into a video artist. Pretty soon Madanna will be calling you up to direct her next video. Love the choice of song…Willie Nelson, right? Well, keep up the great work. And Thanks again for this amazing site (that is if I ever thanked you before- can’t remember)

What the f***, my brother, what a cool video clip, you can see that you make this site with so much passion, in the end I guess Chessvibes will be no1 foor everybody who recognizes passion in live!

Great work Peter, you really caught the gibraltar ‘vibe’- it brought back memories of being there and made me want to be there again. The soundtracks are definitely a good idea- the last time I heard that one I was watching Forest Gump!
