One thing that is missing in many of these reports is the money each of the player made. That is always of great interest to me and I don’t understand why in chess reports that is not reported.

    Hello bobmutch,

Actually what you mentioned was one of the peculiarities of this tournament since there was system of appearance fee payments that were announced beforehand both in ChessBase and our web site.

You can check one version of it at “Regulations” link on our tournament web site of Isbank Atatürk International Women Masters at:

    http://awm2008.tsf.org.tr/content/view/15/19/lang,tr/

So, a different report was not needed.

I became aware of the gathering strenght of the Chinese players after reading Liu Wenzhe’s book “Chinese School of Chess,” which I might add is excellent. It is very reinforcing to see the Chinese players achieving such excellent results in international chess.

Got something to say?
