Aronian brilliant against Anand, Topalov resigns prematurely

Sometimes Aronian is simply an amazing player. Today he played a brilliant game against the player who was leading the field in Morelia: Viswanathan Anand. Replay the game and enjoy. Full of moves you just don’t expect. How beautiful the game of chess can be. Morozevich-Ivanchuk and Svidler-Leko were two boring draws; the former after a Berlin Defence and the latter after another Marshall Gambit. When I write this, Carlsen and Topalov are still playing.

Update in the morning: Another tragedy for Topalov. After blundering a piece against Ivanchuk, against Carlsen he resigned prematurely, in a position that’s probaby a draw. Now Morelia really is the world upside down, compared to Corus…

Henrik LarsenCarlsen: “Regarding Magnus’ performance so far I’m our of superlatives. (…) Magnus is back in the lead (alone) with 3.5 out of 5 and a TRP of 2906 ! What a turnaround compared to Corus.” It sure is. And he’s right to be proud:

    está mucho mejor chessbase, y salió antes la derrota de Topalov, chessvibes sigue siendo “la mala competencia”

    OK translation: Guillermo prefers Chessbase, since leaving the game Carlsen-Topalov before it had ended, was a sign of ‘bad competence’. Well, I can just say that at 3.37 a.m. here in Amsterdam, getting some sleep seemed like a good idea to me.

    On the serious note, I don’t like Chessbase sterile items. The interaction on chessvibes is wonderful and you have more than one update daily

    Chessbase don’t have an RSS feed either, so I often just forget to check what they are saying.

    Y como es posible con tantas espangoles aqui que no hay nigun juador espangol aqui en este torneo que puede cometir con estes GM’s que stamos mirando, solo por un tio de Riga…(y alomejor Pons)
