First videos Chessvibes Blitz Tournament!

There appeared to be more than 70 minutes of footage on tape. Quit some editing has still to be done, but now we’ll present the first few videos of yesterday’s Chessvibes Blitz Tournament. One with fragments from all Saturday, and then a few games from the first five rounds. More videos will follow, as well as a small report with photos.

Round 2: Moll-Van den Doel

At the beginning of the tournament, Van den Doel was still playing well, like here against one of the Chessvibes editors.

Round 3: Van Delft-Rogers

The rook ending was won of course (look it up in the books; the Lucena postition) but because almost ran out of time, he offered a draw. An offer White couldn’t refuse, especially not with a camera so nearby! ;-) Correction: Van Delft offered Rogers a draw (his third) when Rogers had less than five seconds left so he had to accept.

Round 4: Smerdon-Bosboom

Naturally, we had made sure that the top players wouldn’t meet each other early in the tournament. Nonetheless, the eventual no.’s 1 and 2 of the tournament played in round 4. Bosboom wins, but you can see Smerdon’s skill very well in this game too.

Round 5: Bosboom-Jonkman

With blitz chess, IM Bosboom is the favourite against almost all Dutch GM’s. His game against Jonkman seems to be level all the way, till it appears that Black is easily flagged.

    Erg leuk die videofragmenten, vooral ook omdat op deze manier zichtbaar wordt op welke momenten men even de tijd neemt.

    Zeker het filmpje uit de derde ronde waarin Van Delft tegen Rogers speelt was erg leuk omn te zien.

    Nee Peelen - Rogers werd remise gegeven. Peelen deed een onregelmentaire zet op het eind (staat zelf al schaak), liet de loper wel los maar had de klok niet ingedrukt (stond er gisteren bij maar zo’n filmpje is wel handig). Dan schijn je nog een andere zet te mogen doen werd me verzekerd, maar werd door Rogers kundig naar remise onderhandeld.

    Talpa, wat een vleeschpet zeg, beetje Shabalov stijl willen spelen (opening) maar jezus hij lijkt Darth Bezemer wel.

    Thx, Edje! :-) Vleeschpet kan ik niets (meer) aan doen, maar gelukkig heb ik die opening destijds met Shabalov zelf mogen analyseren. Heeft hij misschien ook nog wel wat aan gehad ;-)

    Ik kan de filmtjes niet bekijken.Vroeger was dat geen probleeem.Moet ik instellingen veranderen?Graag uw hulp,want zoveels mooi wil ik niet missen;

    Francis,
    Probeer het eens met firefox ipv explorer!
    Had het zelfde probleem op chessbase, firefox liet moeiteloos de filmpjes wel zien.
