Svidler, Gelfand, Grischuk and Karjakin through

On the ACP World Rapid Cup’s second day, the other eight players met each other. In the first match Svidler beat Shabalov 2-0 and then Gelfand defeated Najer 1.5-0.5. Despite winning the first game, Karpov lost his match against Grischuk 1.5-2.5 and then Karjakin beat Polgar 2-0.

Day 1 & 2 results

Jakovenko - Savchenko 2-0
Radjabov - Drozdovsky 1.5-0.5
Ivanchuk - Eljanov 1.5-0.5
Inarkiev - Shirov 1.5-0.5
Svidler - Shabalov 2-0
Gelfand - Najer 1.5-0.5
Grischuk - Karpov 2.5-1.5
Karjakin - Polgar 2-0

Tomorrow the quarter finals:

Jakovenko-Inarkiev
Ivanchuk-Radjabov
Svidler-Grischuk
Karjakin-Gelfand

Then on Monday, the semi-finals and the final will be played. Here are today’s games for replay. Note that the third game Grischuk-Karpov and the two games Gelfand-Najer are not complete.
