    @ Ivanchuk- Aronian

A lucky win for Aronian, who - de facto - blundered a piece himself because he didn’t see 30.Qxf5!, which would have won the game immediately for Ivanchuk.

In the annotated games. i have seen references to Shipov’s analysis.
Are these being given in another website?

    Thanks,

As the players I support are Shirov and Chucky I almost bit in my wooden table when Chucky blundered. Luckily I changed my mind.

I’m surprised everybody makes this a
    Anand-Topalov (older)
    vs
    Carlsen-Aronian (younger)

thing. Doesn’t/Didn’t anybody think Chucky could win this? He should be up there in the category of the great old players, he’s one of the best players of the last 15 years. Or do you think his best times are past?

the sentence was by the way
“the great oldER players”. “Old” would maybe be exagerating a bit… :)

well he is great of course, but he obviously isnt in great shape. so it is pretty much fair to not bet the money on him. but on the other hand there doesnt seem to be a clear favorite, anand too isnt in his best shape it seems (so he will probably finnish 2nd instead.). its a very open question who is going to win this tournament, as it should be! :-)

I feel sorry for Ivanchuk. This loss is a bitter pill to swalow. lets see how he recovers. He is capable to win ,but so unpredictable…

Nobody should be surprised if Aronian wins this tournament, anand himself said aronian is the favorite (after himself of course::)) btw i played with aronian a couple of times when we were younger,,(we used to live in the same neighborhood and went to the same school in the beginning),,makes me proud :)
    go aronian!

Very much unusual case for the topmost level tournament: no one avoided defeats… Why?

    @ Wolf Gray

I guess they all have their lip balm with them, makes them overly confident.. ;)
