[lang_nl]In de vijfde ronde verloor Topalov opnieuw, dit keer van Carlsen (die de Aljechin speelde!). Leko had een goede stelling tegen Anand maar hij verloor het nog. Aronian-Shirov en Radjabov-Ivanchuk eindigden in remise.[/lang_nl][lang_en]In the fifth round Topalov lost again, this time to Carlsen (who played the Alekhine!). Leko had a good position against Anand but eventually lost it. Aronian-Shirov and Radjabov-Ivanchuk ended in a draw.[/lang_en]

Topalov - Carlsen 0-1
Leko - Anand 0-1 0-1
Radjabov - Ivanchuk ½-½
Aronian - Shirov ½-½

Hier de partijen met commentaar:

[/lang_nl][lang_en]Two things make the start of Morelia/Linares special: there have been many Black victories (6 of the 20 games, to 5 White victories) and besides, (actually already after 4 rounds) everybody has already lost a game!

Topalov - Carlsen 0-1
Leko - Anand 0-1 0-1
Radjabov - Ivanchuk ½-½
Aronian - Shirov ½-½

Topalov plays g5, and Carlsen responding Ke5?!

The analysis of Leko-Anand has been updated, because someone pointed out to me that Leko missed a great chance with 34.Rc8! which might have been winning. This move was also mentioned at ChessPro.
