[lang_nl]Nu Corus, Linares, Aeroflot, Amber en andere grote toernooien er weer op zitten, is het tijd voor een nieuw overzicht van evenementen die de komende maanden op het programma staan. [lang_nl]Op het vorige overzicht maar sowieso op de toernooikalender heb ik veel positieve reacties gekregen. Blijkbaar is er veel behoefte onder schakers om zich regelmatig even een beeld te vormen van wat er allemaal op stapel staat. Hieronder een nieuw overzichtje; voor de open toernooien verwijs ik naar de ChessVibes-calendar.

1-14 april Russisch Teamkampioenschap

Veel topspelers hebben nog geen rust, want komen in Sochi in actie voor een van de Russiche teams. Behalve het kampioenschap wordt gestreden om vier plekken in de Europa Cup. Het Russisch Teamkampioenschap is dit jaar sterker dan ooit, want van de toppers schijnen alleen Kramnik, Anand en Topalov niet mee te doen.

2-13 april NK Schaken / 5-13 april Intomart GfK Open

Komende week begint het Nederlands Kampioenschap. Grote namen als Timman, Van Wely, Sokolov en Nikolic ontbreken helaas maar dit biedt perspectieven voor de overigen. De vraag is: wie gaat Tiviakov stoppen? Tijdens het NK vindt ook het Intomart GfK Open (HSG Open) plaats, met o.a. Mchedlishvili, Fridman en Van den Doel.

8-16 april Gausdal Chess Classics

Het traditionele Noorse toernooi heeft dit jaar in de hoofdgroep Kotronias, Macieja Kaidanov, Sandipan, Ikonnikov, Lie, Gopa, Krush, Hole en inderdaad, weer Eric Moskow.

18-20 april Dos Hermanas

In één weekend spelen Veselin Topalov, Judit Polgar, Alexei Shirov en Francisco Vallejo Pons een klein rapidtoernooitje.

20 april - 6 mei FIDE Grand Prix, Bakoe

De eerste aflevering van deze totaal nieuwe toernooiserie, dat deel uitmaakt van de cyclus van het wereldkampioenschap. Voor de eerste editie doen mee: Svidler, Mamedyarov, Radjabov, Carlsen, Karjakin, Adams, Kamsky, Cheparinov, Grischuk, Bacrot, Wang Yue, Inarkiev, Navara en Gashimov.

20 april - 4 mei Europees Kampioenschap Individueel, Plovdiv

Gelijktijdig met de eerste Grand Prix vindt het EK plaats in het Bulgaarse Plovdiv. De sterkste deelnemers zijn Akopian, Sargissian, Vallejo Pons, Almasi, Timofeev, Bologan en K.Georgiev. Bij de dames doen onder andere Cramling, Danielian, Pogonian, Hoang Thanh Trang, Cmylite, Stefanova en Peng mee.

22-30 april Sigeman & Co Chess Tournament

Ook de Zweden hebben traditioneel in april een sterk toernooi, een van de weinige waar Jan Timman nog graag aan meedoet. Dit jaar zit hij in een groep met (Lars Bo) Hansen, Hillarp Persson, Lie, Portisch, Stellwagen, Smith, Agrest en Kotronias.

7-18 mei Mtel Masters, Sofia

Na Corus en Linares is Mtel Masters dit jaar het derde Grand Slam-toernooi. De deelnemers zijn Topalov, Cheparinov, Bu, Radjabov, Aronian en Ivanchuk.[/lang_nl][lang_en]The previous overview and especially the tournament calendar have been quite successful so far. Apparently chess fans really like to be able to see what’s going to happen in tournament chess every now and then. 1-14 April Russian Team Ch

Many top players still don’t have time to rest yet, because they are playing in Russian Team Champiomship next week. Besides the title, the teams are fighting for four spots at the next European Cup. The Russian League is stronger than ever this year - it is said that except for Kramnik, Anand and Topalov, all the major players are playing.

2-13 April Dutch Ch / 5-13 April Intomart GfK Open

In a few days the Dutch Individual Championship starts. Big names such as Timman, Van Wely, Sokolov and Nikolic are not on the list unfortunately but on the other hand this gives a nice opportunity for the new stars. The question is: who will stop Tiviakov? During this championship, the Intomart GfK Open (the former HSG Open) also takes place, with e.g. Mchedlishvili, Fridman, and Van den Doel.

8-16 April Gausdal Chess Classics

This year’s traditional Norwegian tournament has Kotronias, Macieja Kaidanov, Sandipan, Ikonnikov, Lie, Gopa, Krush, Hole and, indeed, Eric Moskow again.

18-20 April Dos Hermanas

20 April - 6 May FIDE Grand Prix, Baku

The first episode of this completely new tournament series, part of the world championship cycle. In this first edition Svidler, Mamedyarov, Radjabov, Carlsen, Karjakin, Adams, Kamsky, Cheparinov, Grischuk, Bacrot, Wang Yue, Inarkiev, Navara and Gashimov play.

20 April - 4 May European Individual Championship, Plovdiv

During the first Grand Prix the European Ch takes place in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The strongest participants are Akopian, Sargissian, Vallejo Pons, Almasi, Timofeev, Bologan and K.Georgiev. On the ladies list we see Cramling, Danielian, Pogonian, Hoang Thanh Trang, Cmylite and Stefanova.

22-30 April Sigeman & Co Chess Tournament

The Swedes have their traditional April tournament as well; one of the few events Jan Timman still likes to play. This year he competes with (Lars Bo) Hansen, Hillarp Persson, Lie, Portisch, Stellwagen, Smith, Agrest and Kotronias.
