Tiebreak 5.2: Karjakin also through

8 December 2007 14:43 PM | Last modified: 14:45

OK, we’re now at the Weser Stadium of Werder Bremen, in the Business Lounge to be specific, with a view of the football field, and the two Bundesliga matches have begun about half an hour ago. More on this very soon, but first a small update on the World Cup. (I can already reveal that Anand is indeed playing for Baden Baden! Live games here). Karjakin has qualified for the semi-finals quite easily, with a 1,5-0,5 victory in the rapids against Alekseev.

This will be a real test for Shirov: he was defeated quite smoothly this year by Karjakin in Wijk aan Zee and at the European Team Championships (and a little less smoothly in Foros).

    Gave site!
Is die dagopgave toevallig gekozen? Het idee van de sleutzelzet is namelijk precies hetzelfde als 25.Nd5 van Karjakin

I’m a Karjakinfan. I’ve been following him for years and all can say to those who think that Carlsen is better is that in my opinion he is not, and the reason is that Karjakin has practically the same level as Carlsen does by having played less tournaments than Carlsen. But I’m sure any of them as well as Radjabov have great chances of becoming a world champion, and in the near future.

Got something to say?
