Every week we present you an endgame study selected by IM Yochanan Afek: player, trainer, endgame study composer and writer. A week later the solution is published. Good luck solving!

The program of the world's most important chess festival includes various composition events. In the last weekend of the month two major solving contests will take place: the 3rd Studies Day on Saturday 28th (chief arbiter: Luc Palmans) and The Dutch branch of the ISC on Sunday 29th (chief arbiter: Peter Bakker). Among the prominent participants are former world solving champions John Nunn and Piotr Murdzia,The WCCI studies champion Oleg Pervakov and the Dutch champion Dolf Wissmann. Among over the board players taking part are Dutch GM Daniel Stellwagen Rumanian WGM Alina l'Ami and several IMs.
 
The daily twomover challengers attract hundreds of solvers in the venue as well as online. Last but not least-the traditional special challenge: The official study of the tournament.
